I am proud to unveil the "UOD Strategic Management Process 2023-2038" guidebook. This comprehensive document marks a significant milestone in our unwavering commitment to define a clear path for UOD's sustainable advancement.

Why is this Strategic Plan Important?

The guidebook serves several key purposes:

• Shared Vision and Aspiration: It outlines our collective vision, core values, mission, and long-term goals. Together, we are building upon the foundation of UOD's legacy and propelling us towards a future shaped by excellence.

• Aligning with Regional Priorities: As a publicly funded institution, we are intricately linked to the Kurdistan Regional Government's vision. The strategic plan reflects our commitment to educational excellence, digital governance, and sustainable development – priorities shared by both UOD and the KRG.

• A Tailored Approach to Strategic Planning: This guidebook details a strategic planning methodology specifically designed for UOD. It draws on international best practices and incorporates valuable lessons learned from leading institutions worldwide.

Empowering Our Future: Innovation and Governance

The success of this strategic plan hinges on effective governance. To ensure this, we have established a robust framework comprising policies, procedures, and guidelines. This ensures efficient management, oversight, and continuous improvement throughout the implementation cycle.

A Pioneering Approach: The SPCS and UPLO

In a groundbreaking move for public universities in Iraq, we have established the Steering Committee for Strategic Planning (SCSP) and the University Policy Office (UPLO).  The SPSC provides expert guidance and leadership throughout the strategic planning process, while the UPLO is responsible for formulating future-oriented policies that will lead the UOD towards achieving its vision.  These innovative structures demonstrate our commitment to continuous improvement and position UOD as a leader in Iraqi higher education.

The strategic planning process is a testament to UOD's unwavering dedication to continuous improvement, innovation, and sustainable growth. By aligning our goals with regional priorities, we aim to contribute significantly to the Kurdistan Region's advancement.
